How can you recycle long life light bulbs in Ireland?

Question by Crazygirl: How can you recycle long life light bulbs in Ireland?
I asked this question ages ago but nobody had an answer for me.

Sometimes the darn things only last a year. (I think that is because some people have a lot of natural electricity in their body and they blow the bulbs.)

Anyway, is there any method of recycling them? They have about 5% Mercury in them, so I presume there is a special way of disposing them.

Please supply a link if you can.

Cheers for the answers
Oh thanks very much.

Answer by Eddie F
The best place to recycle your long life bulbs is at your local recycling center.

They have a special bay for florescent lights and old telly’s.

PS. The electro static in your body wouldn’t really cause a bulb to fail?

Everybody creates electrostatic…. Did you ever rub a balloon on your sleeve and put it against your hair?

The static created by humans can & does destroy circuit boards, most field fails are attributed to this….

Hope this helps you..

(Of course… you could always sling it over next door’s wall and choke the cat???)
